Hello
Many turn to therapy to help process difficult emotions and help develop healthier coping mechanisms. Whatever is going on for you, deciding to start counselling is a great first step.
I offer a compassionate, non-judgemental, confidential space for you to explore and untangle your thoughts and feelings and gain deeper understanding and improve you overall well-being.
How I work
As an integrative therapist, I use a range of therapeutic methods to offer a unique approach for each client. My core approach is psychodynamic, which means exploring together how past experience and relationships influence how you cope with and feel about things you are facing in the present.
It’s really important to find a good fit when looking for a therapist, so I always suggest an initial brief chat on the phone, just to make sure that a first session feels right. If you then wish to proceed, we’ll make a plan as to when and how often we’ll meet. I offer short and long-term counselling, both face to face and online. Sessions are 50 minutes.
As well as my private practice, I have worked in charities providing counselling services in the local community, and with young people alongside clinical and social services teams in the NHS, and County Council in both primary and secondary schools.
As a Member of BACP, I work to its Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and am committed to my own continuing professional development in the field.
